Our 10 yr Honeymoon!

Wow, taking this trip to Hawaii has been a dream come true for Jesse & I.  We've been trying to go since our 5th Anniversary.  We couldn't do it then so we pushed it to our 7th...due to having a little baby that year we had to put it off again for our 10th!  Thanks to Karen & Greg along with my in-laws who watched our 4 kids for us while we finally got to fulfill that dream and have the time of our lives!

It was great to get away and focus just on each other.  I think Jes & I held hands the whole trip.   We spent 10 days on our adventure, 3 days each in Oahu, Kauai, and Maui.  Here's a break down of what we did.

OAHU

Fresh off the plane, taking a walk on Waikiki Beach by our Hotel.

Our first of 9 beautiful sunsets.

Sounding off the Germaine's Luau.  Great entertainment and delicious food.

Jesse volunteered me to go on stage and "attempt" to do the Hula. Thank goodness I wasn't alone. :)
Looking out from Diamond Head.  What a hike that was! My first ride on a mophead!  Such a blast.

On our last night we decided to go on a dinner cruise.  We felt way under dressed, but didn't care because who would know us...well, it turns out that while on the deck we met a couple from our home town!!  It was pretty funny.

Looking on the coast of Waikiki Beach.

Our last night in Oahu with the curiosity of what awaits us in Kauai.

Kauai

Our first day we took a Helicopter ride around the island.  Within about 8 minutes of the 45 minute flight Jesse & I were looking for the dogie bags.  What an amazing island Kauai is though.  We were able to fly into the Volcano that formed the island.  It's the wettest place on earth.  It gets an average 472 INCHES OF RAIN A YEAR!  The clouds parted for us and so we got to see the crater with waterfalls everywhere you look!  By then though we were just wanting to touch dry ground. :)

On our way towards our Hike we stopped to fuel our bodies with some Hawaiian Pizza.
The beginning of our 8 mile hike.  It was only downhill for a little bit. :)

This is the halfway mark.  I forgot the name of the beach, but earlier someone did a little rock sculpturing.  It looked pretty neat in person.

It's starting to get a bit treacherous.  Giant Bamboo!  They were taller than trees and when they swayed they make little clanking sounds, it was a bit musical like a wind chime.

Taking it all in!  We were the last one's to get to the waterfall so we had it all to ourselves.  Absolutely amazing!

Heading back to our car, running out of water by now. :)

Our last day we took a Kayak tour.  It was my first time to Kayak and loved it!  After we traveled down this huge river we parked our Kayak's and then hiked up to another waterfall.

This may look romantic (and it was), but the water was pretty chilly and it was pounding on us!!  Pretty cool that I can say that I've kissed my husband under a waterfall. :)

This was our coolest tour guide!  He did the whole tour & hike barefoot!  He knew so much of the Hawaiian Culture and talked about it and the plants the whole way.   He said he lives in board shorts and that's it.  Rarely does he wear shoes or a shirt.  He must have some crazy farmers tan!! As you can see Jesse & I need to work on our tan!! :)
Spouting Horn.

Maui

View from the Restaurant by our Hotel.  We ate by the beach every night to watch the sunset.

The best food/fish I ever tasted!!

This day we reserved just for hanging out at the beach.  We realized that we were doing a lot of active things and we needed time to just relax.  When I thought of coming to Hawaii this is EXACTLY what I had in mind.

Our last sunset dinner.

YUMMM!

Walking back to our Hotel we noticed a show going on.  Suddenly one of the flame guys came on the grass up close to us so we got an up close view.  What was really cute though was this mans' family was right by us watching and his little kids were dancing and cheering for their daddy.  He later came over and gave them all a kiss.  It made us miss our kids.

We wrapped up our last day at Maui by driving the Road to Hana.  A very windy road with all sorts of things to see.  All in all, this trip was absolutely amazing.  All couples need a trip like this.  Jesse & I felt like crazy kids again!  We hope to come back with our kids someday.
