So, I've added a new "favorite book" sidebar if you didn't notice. I know it's pathetic that I only have 3, but honestly I haven't read much of any books since I've had children unless it's a recipe book or Self-help/Decluttering book. Which come to think of it, I guess those books have been useful to me and could be to you too. Besides the scriptures I try to read books that are part of the LDS culture I guess you could say. Books like Millennial Messiah and The Holy Temple to name a few that I'm still working on. But, when I venture out I like to dip into a nice love story every now and then like I did with the Twilight Series (A must Read!!).
I'm eager to hear about any books that you all have read that you've just loved and maybe we can have some sort of blog book club! :) Warning: Don't expect me to finish as quickly as most avid readers like my husband Jesse. The guy is an animal when it comes to reading. He can't put a book down even if it costs him a nights worth of sleep. Sometimes I think he would've been a great Editor. Anyhow, can't wait to hear from everyone.

Cameron turns 4!
Cameron started off his birthday with the traditional breakfast in bed. (Claire isn't old enough for that yet.) It was his first time and he just loved it! Our extended family was out of town so we had a celebration with just us after we got home from church. Cameron requested my pot roast (my mom's secret recipe) and just had a nice celebration at home. I never thought we would get Cameron's party together because he and I kept changing the birthday plans, but luckily at the last minute we put together a fun party the next day at Peter Piper Pizza. Throw in a few kids, games and food and you can't go wrong right? Several of the kids didn't get to come, but it worked out for the best because it was crazy trying to keep up with everyone. Then later that afternoon he was surprised by a visit from his cousins Sara and Anna. Cameron is so happy to be four! He always mentions it when talking to his friends or strangers. I'm still waiting for him to consistently get himself dressed in the mornings like he promised he would do once he turned 4. I guess he still needs to be babied a little bit. :)
Bryce is turning 6 in a couple of weeks and has already planned what he wants to do which makes it nice for me. I'll post those happenings when I get them.

Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman!
Our house is a hot zone! The week before last Bryce had the flu and missed a week of school. We ended up going to Urgent Care because he just seemed like he wasn't getting any better. It was packed there and we ended up spending 3 hours waiting and finally were seen at 11pm, and only spent 5 min. with the doctor. I'm thinking Bryce could've missed the doctor visit and would've been fine.
Cameron got sick Friday night, but he has had a high fever plus vomiting. The poor little guy. He seems to be turning around. I've been doing some " Dr. Quinn" home remedies that I wish I would've started earlier, but didn't see the symptoms coming. Within the first 24 hours I took my friend Janae's advice and put vaseline and smashed garlic on Cameron's feet wrapped in sarane wrap and socks. ( Yes dad, I know you've given me that advice before. I'll try to listen next time. ) :) He didn't like it at first, but then just fell asleep and forgot all about it. I've also been giving him some echanasha (sp) and some other herbs that I can't think of at the moment. Getting over the flu is just a waiting game.
Last night Claire got a high fever and it made her whole body looked like she was sunburned. She would spit out the Ibuprophen so I had to cool her down the old fashioned way with a wash cloth. So, needless to say Jesse and I haven't been getting too much sleep and are looking forward for this to be all be over!!
If any of you have any flu fighting tips I'm all ears! :) I just hope Cameron is well by the time his birthday arrives!

Little baby Whitney! Welcome!
Static Fun
Potty Party!
I've been "casually" trying to implement the potty training for Claire so she doesn't get burned out by my enthusiasm like my boys seemed to have when they were her age. I've heard girls are easier to train than boys and so far so good. So, every night before bath time she tries and when she did finally I got so excited and took her picture. So, now everytime she goes potty she points to the hall closet where my camera is and wants me to take her picture. She's so silly.
Flying by!
Every year in January our town has the Mesilla Balloon Festival and the balloons take off in a field near our home usually flying right over our house. This year the wind was blowing the other direction, but we still got to see about 20 take off. Claire just screamed with excitement when another one popped up.
Maybe next year I'll drag myself and the family out to watch it up close. Although, waking up at 5 am in the freezing cold doesn't sound too exciting to me right now. :) It was neat to see some of the same balloons that were around when I was little in Artesia at our balloon rallies. We were on a balloon chasing team and I was able to ride a balloon with my Grandpa Hewett. I highly recommend it if you ever get the chance!
Field Trip!
A few weeks ago we went to visit my mom in Edgewood and we always make a trip to either the Museums or Zoo depending on the weather. Since it was freezing we went to the Natural History Museum and had a good time.
We watched a movie there called "Ride around the World." It's a history of the Cowboy way and their influence in several countries around the world. It was really interesting. The kids and I got to pet a snake!! They always love the dinosaur part of course and seeing the Planets. It's a good way to get the kids tired so that they'll sleep all the way home.
